Course Description

A studio course that focuses on aesthetic and communicative applications of graphic, streaming, and interactive digital media. Class projects will result in a portfolio of work integrating sound, typography, photo illustration, and moving images.

CMS 2100 (C) and CMS 3710 (C)

Course Learning Outcomes

Successful completion of the course indicates that students have demonstrated the following:

  1. A basic understanding of the various ways that motion expresses and communicates meaning;
  2. A basic understanding of interactivity as it contributes to the meanings of new media objects;
  3. The ability to choose appropriately among different approaches to attributes (1) and (2), based on a given object's content and contexts;
  4. The ability to implement these choices effectively.
